Alex Bets and Gavin Illsey from Oxford A won Europeans

Glasgow A (Niall Kennedy & Niall ?)
Durham B (Sid Khajuria & Ian Chapman)
Gavin Illsey was best speaker in the final.
The finals adjudication panel was Jens Fischer, Derek Lande, Kevin Massie, Klaas Van Schelven, Can Okar, Erin O'Brien, Ciaron Lawlor, Anat Gelber and Alex Betts.
The defeated semi finalists were:
Durham A
Oxford B
Oxford D
Erasmus A

Final: TTHW allow companies to refuse hiring smokers.
Rd 1. TTHW abolish the International Criminal Court.
Rd 2. TTHBT gender reassignment surgeries should be included in state-funded medical care.
Rd 3. TTHBT governments should block the foreign takeover of important companies.
Rd 4. TTHW ban the use of evidence aquired from countries which practise torture.
Rd 5. TTHW ban all religious involvement in schools.
Rd 6. TTHW remove the right to refuse medically necessary treatment.

its very surprising that the speaker tab incident has not be raised here or on bd or on the euros website.

ReplyDeleteWinner was Bonn A (Isabelle Loewe & Matthias Lux), also in the final were Munich blue (Aurora Simionescu & Daniel Grotzky), Bonaparte A (Daniel Schut & N.N.) and Erasmus A (Mark Roels & Lars Duursma). Chairman of the adjudication panel was DCA Klaas van Schelven.
ESL semi-final motion was (no exact wording) TTHW allow insurance companies to access the genetic data of potential customers.

Though I witnessed both rounds, I currently don't remember the motions of ESL quarters and semis.
I don't have any additional info on the speaker tab incident. I'm aware that it happened but I wasn't at Europeans.

ReplyDeleteAs regards the speaker tab incident. We released all the information we had on the night. And we will be releasing a full report on the incident over the coming days. At this stage we are making sure that the report is as thorough as possible hence the delay.
