Oxford win Europeans

Alex Bets and Gavin Illsey from Oxford A won Europeans

In the final they defeated

UC Cork (Tony Murphy & Derek [Jimmy] Doyle)
Glasgow A (Niall Kennedy & Niall ?)
Durham B (Sid Khajuria & Ian Chapman)

Gavin Illsey was best speaker in the final.

The finals adjudication panel was Jens Fischer, Derek Lande, Kevin Massie, Klaas Van Schelven, Can Okar, Erin O'Brien, Ciaron Lawlor, Anat Gelber and Alex Betts.

The defeated semi finalists were:
Durham A
Oxford B
Oxford D
Erasmus A

Motions: (Wording may be slightly off)
Final: TTHW allow companies to refuse hiring smokers.

Rd 1. TTHW abolish the International Criminal Court.
Rd 2. TTHBT gender reassignment surgeries should be included in state-funded medical care.
Rd 3. TTHBT governments should block the foreign takeover of important companies.
Rd 4. TTHW ban the use of evidence aquired from countries which practise torture.
Rd 5. TTHW ban all religious involvement in schools.
Rd 6. TTHW remove the right to refuse medically necessary treatment.

    Oxford, UCC Phil, Durham, and Glasgow were in the EFL final.
    Bonn won the ESL final (Isabelle Loewe and Martthias Lux).
    DCM (Munich), Bonn, Erasmus A, and Bonaparte A were in the ESL final

    GUU A - Niall Kennedy and Niall Rowntree
    Durham B - Sid Khajuria (spelling?) and Ian Chapman

    The finals panel included the CA and DCAs (Jens Fischer, Derek Lande, Kevin Massie, Klaas Van Schelven) + Can Okar, Erin O'Brien, Ciaron Lawlor and two others (not sure of names)

    Teams in the semis:
    Durham A, Oxford B, Oxford D and Erasmus A.

    The EFL final jury also contained Anat Gelber, and one other. The motion was (no exact wording) TTHW allow companies to refuse hiring smokers.

    ESL final motion was TTHW destroy the artefacts of fallen oppressive regimes.

    Winner was Bonn A (Isabelle Loewe & Matthias Lux), also in the final were Munich blue (Aurora Simionescu & Daniel Grotzky), Bonaparte A (Daniel Schut & N.N.) and Erasmus A (Mark Roels & Lars Duursma). Chairman of the adjudication panel was DCA Klaas van Schelven.

    ESL semi-final motion was (no exact wording) TTHW allow insurance companies to access the genetic data of potential customers.

    Prelims motions:

    1. TTHW abolish the International Criminal Court.

    2. TTHBT gender reassignment surgeries should be included in state-funded medical care.

    3. TTHBT governments should block the foreign takeover of important companies.

    Though I witnessed both rounds, I currently don't remember the motions of ESL quarters and semis.

    As regards the speaker tab incident. We released all the information we had on the night. And we will be releasing a full report on the incident over the coming days. At this stage we are making sure that the report is as thorough as possible hence the delay.
