Update from Botswana Worlds

Dear Botswana Worlds participants,

We are proud to announce that the 2nd Phase of registration (Deposit payments) has been in progress successfully with fewer challenges.

Confirmation emails shall be sent to all institutions and major debate websites by the end of this week. This applies to all institutions that have made their payments and sent proof of payments, and we have received their funds by close of business on the 30th July (including those that communicated their challenges to us). We are currently finalizing the cross-checking our records with the banking data and promotion of institutions on the waiting list and we are 60 per cent done with this process.

The delay in releasing the confirmation communiqué is a result of the following reasons;

– Challenges with the Automatic Invoicing system on our website leading to manual invoices

– Failure of the registration system in uploading Proof of Payments from institutions directly and automatically making confirmations to institutions. This led to the Finance team having to receive 90 per cent of Proof of Payments via email leading to manually having to cross check the payments and confirming teams.

– Institutions sending payments via their Accountants/Treasuries/Sponsors and then not communicating with the Finance Team about such payments leading to Org. Comm. to receiving anonymous payments. We therefore wish to request all institutions that are affected by this to email us immediately about their transactions.

In consideration of the above, we wish to announce that the 3rd Phase of Registration shall resume on the 9th August 2010:8:00AM GMT (10AM Botswana Time) and Closes on the 9th September 2010:8:00AM GMT (10AM Botswana Time)

All those institutions that have been allocated slots as per the first phase including all African teams and have not communicated with the registration team MUST get in touch with us IMMEDIATELY.
