Some brief snippets of news

A few interesting but brief updates popped up on my google reader this morning.  Rather than post them separately I'll combine them together into one post.

- According to Cambridge student newspaper The Tab WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange will address Cambridge Union Debating Society on Tuesday, March 15.  Should be an interesting debate if you are in the Cambridge area.

The motion was This house believes that parties’ electoral campaigns should only be funded by the state.

You can find the video of the final plus the full results at http://viv11.debattierklubwien.at/

- Finally the University of Limerick Debating Union will be awarding it's annual Auditor's medal for contribution to discourse and debating to Dr Garret Fitzgerald, former Taoiseach of Ireland,.  The presentation will be made to Dr Fitzgerald on Thursday 10th March in UL.  All going well I plan to attend.
