The Lund Debate Society (LDS) is proud to invite the world debating community to the Lund Open 2011which will be hosted in Lund, Sweden from April 15-17. It is the first ever British Parliamentary (BP format) debate tournament for university students in the country. The tournament will be contested in 5 elimination rounds, 7 minute speeches for each speaker and the top 8 teams will go through to the penultimate rounds.
Registration opens on February 5 until March 15. Payment deadline is on April 1.
You may choose from two packages:
International Package: 80 euros for those who need accommodations
Local Package: 40 euros for those who do not
This comes with 5 Rounds, break to Semi-finals and a majestic venue for the Grandfinals. We are also providing an optional debate workshop on friday, a tour of the city of Lund on Friday afternoon, a 2 night-stay at the charming train hostel (if you’re on the international package) in the center, breakfastand lunch for two days, a traditional Swedish sittning on Saturday night which is basically a 3 course gourmet dinner with wine, Swedish snaps, beerand a lot Swedish singing and fantastic clubbing after the dinner.
