The University of Sydney Union BP Novice was held yesterday and was won by Paul Karp and Michael Falk. The Joint best speakers were Steph Paton and Naomi Hart.
Naomi Oreb was the Chief Adjudicator. There were 26 teams in total, and the topics were:
R1. THW make smokers pay for their own medical expenses
R2. THW not allow children to compete in professional sports
R3. THW deny the right to strike
R4. THW execute war criminals
Final: THW allow mothers in prison to be accompanied by their babies
