National Championship in the British Parliamentary Debate Format
Saturday – Sunday, March 31 – April 1, 2007
Dear Colleagues:
On behalf of Claremont McKenna College and the Claremont Colleges Debate Union, you are cordially invited to attend the US Universities National Championship Tournament, featuring national and international competition in the British parliamentary format. The tournament is open to US and international colleges and universities. The event provides an opportunity to participate in national caliber competition; it may be one of the very few American tournaments to bring together NPDA, APDA, CUSID, WUDC, and other debate organization representatives. The 2006 final featured outstanding teams from Harvard, Yale, Alaska, and Athabasca. The tournament champion was Harvard University.
The tournament features six preliminary debates and up to three elimination debates. Like other intercollegiate events sponsored by the Claremont Colleges Debate Union, the tournament will offer genuinely outstanding competition and judging, beautiful site and facilities, the finest tournament amenities, and a relaxed schedule and atmosphere.
The top performing US team will be designated as US champion. Registration for the tournament begins on Thursday, February 1, 2007, 12:00 PM (PST). Places will be allocated in order of registration date and time. Please consider registering early.
If you have any questions or require supplemental information, please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to seeing you this spring for an event that will be extraordinarily challenging, and fun.
Sincerely yours,
John K. Meany

Update on the Blog Awards
I meant to post an update on the blog awards. Unfortunatly we didn't make it to the short list but thanks to all those who voted. The eventual winner chosen from the short list by the judges was a site on Ice Cream so hard to compete with that I suppose.
Thanks to all of those who voted.
