UCD IV

e-mail from UCD

The Literary & Historical Society, University College Dublin is delighted to announce the launch of the Vice Presidents' Cup Inter-Varsity 2006, along with a brand new website and online registration system.

The L&H VPC IV is one of the debating calendar's most prestigious competitions, not to mention being far and away the most fun. This year it will take place on 3 and 4 November 2006.

Speeches will be seven minutes in length and, as always, the quality of adjudication will be beyond compare. This year we are proud to have Derek Lande, DCA at Vancouver Worlds 2007, as our CA.

For entertainment, we feature open bars, a live band and DJ and our stunning live-action movies.

Check out the website for more information and to register
www.ucd.ie/lnh/VPC/Home.html

The website also has our movies from last year's competition. Relive the memories or, if you weren't there, prepare to be blown away.

The trailer for this year's can be found here
http://www.ucd.ie/lnh/VPC/Trailer%20'06.html

This year the L&H is launching a brand-new competition, the L&H Novice IV.

Taking place on 2 November 2006, the day before the Vice Presidents' Cup IV, the Novice IV is open to any team where neither partner has spoken at an IV before the academic year 2006/2007.

The Novice IV offers new debaters a chance to gain experience in IV style debating early in the competitive calendar.

What is more, the competition is free to any teams taking part in the VPC IV.

Naturally, being an L&H competition, the adjudication will be of the highest standard and as much effort will go into people's enjoyment as goes into the competition.

For more information and to register, check out the VPC website http://www.ucd.ie/lnh/VPC/Home.html

If you have any questions, contact the convenor, David O'Connor, at vpc@literaryandhistorical.comDon't miss the opportunity to take part in the inaugural L&H Novice IV.
